Stuttering is an exhausting, misunderstood disability. I'm sorry that you're surrounded by so many cruel, ignorant people. Although my husband, family, and my friends are all gentle with my speech impediment, none of them truly "get it". And how could they? They're all fluent. When I vent my struggles to them, it's hard to receive actual sympathy instead of well meaning (but imo misguided) "You can do it! Just do it!" encouragement. Some days talking is like trying to breathe through a vice grip choking me.  Now I'm preparing to apply for a customer-facing job and dreading a potential interview. But hey, we live in A Society and folks gotta get a job to pay bills and eat. Solidarity, friend 💜
