I do agree that hiding from it will make you suffer, but it doesn't determine who I am and who I want to be in the future. Sensible people that want to connect with others as friends or more will be ok with the fact that someone speaks or sounds differently. Those that judge you by the level of your fluency are simply showing themselves as they really are. If a potential date wants nothing more than the 'perfect' man or women they're setting themselves up to be disappointed because all of our flaws come out sooner or later. Frankly - once people know that I stutter I fear very little.
