Do anti anxielotics make stutter worse? So I am 21 years old and i developed speech blocks at the age of 17 and at that time I was so badly felt it that I developed low self esteem but with time I learned to cope. At that time my blocks were on specific words so I managed it . I ofcourse have had bad and easy stutter days but it used to get better. Most recently I have decided to try psychiatric treatment for my anxiety, bad focus and also for blocks and they told me that my stutter is anxiety related and gave me alprazolam 0.25 twice a day. So i have used it for 2 weeks now. At first the stutter got a lil better but the morning dose makes my brain so slow and sluggish that i cant even think/read properly. Now its the second week n this week my speech blocks have gone extremely intense. From specific words to literally every word. These are so bad that I totally forget what I was saying and just force on saying the word and lose the meaning of the whole sentence. I dont know whats worsening it but definitely not anxiety. So basically the morning dose not only messes with my brain but also not helping in stuttering at all, neither the impulsiveness while doing a task as well. Plus I forgot to mention that I am also seeing a therapist who basically does nothing just gives me a routine schedule without even listening to me clearly. Just wanted to ask if the medications have any chance for making my speech worse when they are supposed to help otherwise?
