Moving away wasn't difficult, mainly because I have lots of hobbies to keep me busy - uni is always promoted as just one big party, for some it might be, but there'll be times when you'll be alone, so I've been playing the piano, sorting out job prospects and going to the gym when I feel lonely. Its kinda like living at home, just without family around for your comfort when your not with friends. The workload isn't very much, but it's important to stay on top of things like exam work and coursework. Most lecturers are hands off, apart from one revision class the day before an exam (totally pointless) unless you make your problems known to them WHEN you see them they can be useless at times. I'd say begin answering exam questions as soon as you start going to lectures, so once you cover the appropriate content answer the questions.
