not being able to say your name is so common for us stutterers. when someone asks what your name is, it’s one of those questions that you should be able to answer instantly so when you don’t, they always hit you with the ‘DiD yOu FoRgEt YoUr NaMe LoL’. i honestly would just let people know you have a stutter. i used to try and hide my stutter from everyone but when i started to disclose it to people, it was so much more freeing and i realised that people really don’t care as much as i thought about it. it’s not your job to speak 100% fluently to cater to other people, you speak the way that you do and other people will just have to get on with it. next time you meet someone new and you’re stuttering, try saying ‘bear with me a moment, i have a stutter’ and 99% of people will just wait for you to for finish speaking, if they don’t then they can fuck off lol
