Heya! So it sounds like from this post a lot of the emotions you’re experiencing are from life itself and not necessarily directly related to your stutter. I recently graduated university, started a new career, and moved to a new city where I knew nobody. Best advice anyone can really give to someone in your position is to find some hobbies you enjoy and slowly ease your way into making friends with those you share a similar interest with! My stutter, alongside several other negative events, severely handicapped my ability to make friends and not be awkward from a young age till now. Picked up rock climbing, made a bit of small talk about some routes were working on, and slowly found a solid friend group out of it! Dating apps will always be hit and miss and, personally, if you’re not comfortable in your own skin I wouldn’t go near relationships just yet. It takes a lot of work to love yourself and double-that to love someone else without the former already in place. Relationships, romantic and platonic, are hard work and can take a toll on your mental health if it’s not something you’re ready for. Maybe take a few months for yourself. Find some hobbies you enjoy, pick up some healthy habits wether it’s taking a daily walk or enjoying an evening in the park every now and then. Anything to keep your mind moving and healthy! So much of one’s stutter and mental health relies on what situations they’re putting themselves into daily. Throwing one’s’ self into relationship after relationship without really knowing who you are just yet and trying to skip to the next chapter of your life without first reading between the lines is a stutter-and-anxiety cocktail being stirred just waiting to be gulped down. Keep your head held high, make minor changes to your everyday routines, and learn about yourself a bit more! It can go a long ways!
