Where have I said that the psyche (i.e. emotions such as fear, anger etc.) does not play a role? On the contrary, it plays a major role in stuttering just as in most medical conditions and beyond. Im just unsure whether or not the scenario of talking to oneself is comparable to actual communication, which requires a much more complex and sophisticated skillset. Other than that, I completely agree with you that the psychological mindset plays a huge role when speaking to other people.
