Benefits of Physical Exercise Hello fellows, a Melbourne study was mentioned on the latest Joe Rogan episode with Russell Brand that physical exercise is 1.5 times more effective for treating anxiety and depression that the MOST EFFECTIVE medicine. Obviously anxiety is common in stutterers and depression is also no rarity. Physical exercise -and I won’t get into details of how exactly it’s beneficial to the body and mind/ bodymind (that’s enough for a separate post)-, by improving the general mental state, also improves stuttering, or at least how we’re dealing with it, which automatically leads to improved speech I’d argue (improved in this context = more fluent). This is my hypothesis. And I can confirm this through my own experience. Chances are high, I’m not the first one to claim this. But I haven’t read into it yet.
