Personally, I find speech therapy to be an antiquated way of dealing with stuttering as it assumes it's something wrong with how we speak. There is nothing wrong with how we speak as the majority of people with a stammer or stutter can fluently speak in certain situations, like when they are alone. It's my belief that 90% of stutter cases is tied up with social anxiety and/or general anxiety and treatment of that aspect, which is sometimes completely overlooked in speech therapy, will yield much better results.
