I grew up as the only stutterer in my family. Despite that my parents were accepting of it and never treated it like it was a big deal. I was put in speech therapy early which did help. My parents told me I had to go because it would make my life easier, not to fix me. I think the most helpful thing my parents did was to never bring negative attention to it while still pushing me to use my voice. I always had to speak for myself and it built up my confidence. If my parents worried about it then I probably would’ve too. Its your duty as a mother to keep your child safe, healthy, and happy. You cant make society accept your child but you can help your child accept themselves.
