The McGuire Programme I feel like everyone in this sub should be aware of The McGuire Programme and it’s an amazing benefits for someone who stammers. It is a four day intensive course where you are taught physical and psychological techniques to control the stutter as well as making phone calls to coaches and doing public speaking, although scary at first it becomes so easy with all the support around you on the course it’s like a happy community. It’s unlike any speech therapy you’ve ever done and is completely different as everyone on the course is or was a stutterer themselves, so they have been in your shoes and know exactly how you feel. The after support is incredible with a whole list of coaches you can call anytime to practise the techniques or anything you’re finding difficult. The course is absolutely life changing and though not a cure, is the next best thing to it. As someone who has stammered their whole life The McGuire Programme has helped me so much to almost overcome my stammer and as long as you keep using what they teach you, any stutter no matter how bad can be controlled. There are plenty of YouTube videos about the course to see. Hope this helps someone who stammers!
