Yes, you're right. In my opinion is because when you wear a mask it's harder for people to understand you because they can't see your lips. When you realise that, subconsciously your brain makes you stutter. That's why when you don't even remember you have a mask the tendency is for that not to happen. Again, this is my personal opinion.
