I've found direct correlation between my speech and the work I put in, too. E.g. if I read aloud a lot, use proactive strategies to avoid struggling with words and use mind training (visualizations, affirmations), my speech is much better. Will I ever have the "fluent" speech non-stutterers have? (remember, they aren't 100% fluent all the time, either). Who knows? But I'm sure I can reach a level where stuttering is practically non-existent (because I don't have any physiological/mental reason not to do so) and don't have to think about it anymore.
