Yeah I hate following scripts. My old boss tried the same with me but I told her I follow her script but I'm gonna say it MY way. Because it's almost impossible to say what someones expecting me to say. "Eat in or take out" You could've worked around it and been like "hello mam or dude, thanks for coming to whatever will you be eating in and taking out?" You could say "hey! (Use a different word as your starter before you move onto the sound you have trouble with)" is that to stay or to go?" Point is you have to work with yourself. Learn what works and what doesn't. Mixing up the script is a good way to avoid getting stuck. And when u feel urself about to stutter, just keep the words flowing until you can get it out without struggling. It'll help your customer service skills cause you'll be forced to engage with the customers to maintain unpredictability In the words you might say. Two last things. Learn to shut off that feeling in your chest when you stutter. Takes alot of deep breathing exercises. And Learn to stop your mind from going into overdrive all the time. My secret technique is to count to 10 over and over if I'm forced to speak publicly or introduce myself to a sharing circle (worst thing you can do to a stutterer) make them talk to people they don't know When ur having anxiety or that feeling is in your chest. Take 2 long deep breathes. And start counting. It keeps your brain preoccupied.. we use the opposite side of our brain then the rest of the population. We aren't like them and thats okay. We struggle with speaking but that means our brainpower is being allocated to something else. Try to findout what ur quirk is
