I'm a person who stutters as well and we can all agree that we're our harshest critics in my personal experience. We always tend spend time in the minds of other people instead of our own and focus on ourselves and whats in front of us. Sure I have days where I stutter more than others and other days where I'm so anxious and think about the other person instead of myself. Yes getting drunk works for some ppl, for me its hit or miss. And also, from other ppl I've talked to who stutter, we tend to talk with our emotions instead of our head so we get more blocks for more important and intense topics. We often spend time catastrophizing events way out of proportion and this leads to more stuttering. The key is to try to minimize those thoughts and focus on the here and now. I know its easier said than done but its a start. Hope this helps and good luck, each stutterers journey is different.
