>when I'm with people I think of so many things to say but I don't open my mouth to say them and it's so depressing. Stutterers tend to have this thing where we feel like non-stutterers are just saying anything they want whenever they want, when in reality, they share these same feelings. Seriously, ask a PWDS some time, they will tell you they feel the same way quite frequently. My point being, we think our stutter is 100% to blame for us holding back in these situations, but in reality, it's probably only like 10-40%. The other things that do hold us back (insecurity, avoidance, social anxiety) can be conquered. Focus on those instead of pinning 100% onto the stutter.
