PSW and Business Marketing Hello everyone. I am a 49years old male living with a stutter since childhood. Stuttering affected me from childhood, primary school, high school, the workplace and all through to my own business. I am starting a food manufacturing company. I develop and bring to life food products such as carbonated soft drinks, functional yoghurts, soups, sauces, blended spices, juice concentrates, dairy fruit concentrates, juices blends, concentrated drinks, fermented products and many more. I am based in South Africa. Now I found out that the stutter effect always comes back to haunt the front end of my business. I am very scared, fearful, anxious and it’s difficult for me in meetings with funders and investors. I can’t present in public. As a result of stuttering, I speak very slowly naturally and when I am anxious I even get tongue tied. So besides using social media and other internet based platforms to market the business and its products, I try to use people with marketing expertise. However my business is still in the startup phase and I don’t have the budget for that. I have innovated and designed products for big international companies here in Africa and those products are segment and category leaders on the retail market as we speak. I also worked on structured emulsions products such as margarines and mayonnaise. So my call is that if there are people with a stutter who would like to invest in a food manufacturing and marketing business in South Africa and Africa, here is an opportunity.
