Your right, I was thinking of Valium. Still, SSRIs come with danger as well. I wouldn't take them unless it's a last resort. Monitor your side effects closely. I used to have terrible anxiety when I was running from my stutter. Thinking I would have to speak would give me anxiety weeks in advance. Nowadays I actively seek those same speaking situations and the anxiety is mostly gone. Just wanted to add my 2c, as I think we have the bad habit of throwing pills at our problems, treating the symptoms but not the underlying root cause of out ailments. What type of social anxiety do you get? Panic attacks?
