I do a similar thing but what I do when I know the word but can’t utter it at the moment, is ‘asking’ what the word is in another language (I’m bilingual) as if I was trying to find the correct translation even though I know it. So I just fake thinking about the translation and when I’m able to utter the right word, I do as if I remembered the word. My friends tend to find it really funny when it’s about the most basic words you learn in kindergarten and I can laugh with it too ;))
