Acceptance isn't 'admitting defeat' it's about accepting that I'm built different than others so now I can find a way to make life work for me within my constraints. Acceptance is empowerment. Instead of 'fighting against' something I can never win, which is draining and demoralising, I'm taking ownership and action on the things in my life that I can change - such as building my self-esteem, learning how to have empathy for others and myself, and building different parts of a well-rounded life.
