8 months ago I was asked to officiate my friends wedding ceremony. I stammer/stutter and knew there would be 150 people listening to me that day. I agreed to do it and for 8 months straight I was in my head about how this might go. Long story short, it went fine and afterwards I realized that I should not have been so worried about the process. Whether it goes good or bad, it’s still going to go, and almost no one will remember. My advice is not not announce you have a stutter. People are going to recognize it as soon as you do it. Rehearse what you are going to say until you feel fairly confident, and the stop thinking about it. It might go good, it might not, but the only one who will care about if you stuttered or how many times you stuttered is you.
