I don’t think his reply leans either way, to the point where I’d say he hasn’t properly thought about or attempted this (potentially) I agree with what you’re saying that mental state has an effect regardless, but “stopping stutter” does not equivocate to “an increase or decrease” it more implies fluency, at least to me. It’s one of those things that seem so obvious it’s easy to miss (mental state- speech condition volume of impairment) it’s like someone saying “just be positive” but thinking about it yes what you’re saying is valid to the point where I don’t think anyone could tell me it isn’t, I just wonder the true extent of affects on attitude towards our speech too actual ability to output our speech
