You really shouldn’t find it distasteful or look down upon those who are justifying and accepting stuttering. There is not a “cure” for this and there won’t be until they can actually figure out the cause. Currently, most believe that stuttering could be cause by more than one thing- 1 persons stutter might be a symptom of another medical reason (issue/diagnosis/etc) but not all with that same medical reason stutter. Also we have people who stutter that don’t have that same medical issue. I do not stutter but am a follower of this group and many others because my son does. He is now 18- and I want nothing more than to cure him- it took us a very very long time to accept that there is no cure. In fact it took me joining this group and following many many others to realize that if you find a person that stutters and is now able to speak fluently without stuttering- 9 times out of 10 it’s because they found a technique or practice that makes them fluent to the average person in a conversation- they weren’t cured, they found something that allows them to communicate fluently in a conversation and without that method or technique the stutter is there. this is why speech therapy and staying up with research is important- my son has rejected most of the techniques that he’s been shown because they feel too unnatural to him-
