Years back I wanted to do architecture. Mainly because I thought I'd be "drawing" alot. And to my surprise. Architecture requires ALOT of talking. With clients, designers etc. And it's stressful other than worried about talking properly. Today I'm studying programming. Ik I'll still require talking with a team and delivering a software for a company. Im still scared and I have 1 year left of studies. At the end of the day. 99% of jobs require talking. And it cannot be avoided. I have to accept it too because I'm going to start work in my last year of studies. But in my mind what's pushing me forward is. If your boss/colleagues at work know that you stutter. And you tell them exactly how you feel under pressure. That alone can relieve alot of your stress. It might bring down productivity in terms of work but it's not the end of the world. And I know not every boss will be kind enough to give someone like us a chance (us who stutter) but you will find someone that will look pass it and it'll be easier. When you do the interview. Tell them you have a stutter. That way going into the interview it won't be as hard trying to avoid stuttering. Goodluck Edit: I forgot to mention I've done a fairly good amount of job shadowing in the past. Where you go into a big firm and meet people and they tell you about the job. I told them I stutter and people can be really understandable. They said its totally okay and I shouldn't let it bother me too much. Older people generally give you a chance and have more wisdom than let's say a youngster who likes to tease and laugh and our stutters.
