I once looked into getting on disability. I actually went to a program called Vocational Resources first. It's a program initially created for those that are deaf etc. but they recently added stuttering, they help people with these disabilities obtain the career they want, be it supporting you through college, helping teach you how to interview, etc. I'm not sure if this is a national thing or just specific to my state, but they said if I qualify for support from VR, they would take it up with the social security office to try and help get me on disability. I never went through with it so I have no idea if they would actually be successful or not but it might be worth looking into One thing to note is that VR requires you to prove financial need. I'm not sure what your financial situation is like though.
