My husband stutters, and we’re expecting our first child in the fall. I figure if our kid stutters, we’ll support them, and they’ll be okay. I know it is something my husband worries about, but it’s something outside our control and you can’t let fear dictate your life. I framed it for my husband that if the choices were having a kid with him who stuttered or not having a kid with him, I’d of course pick a kid who stutters. I don’t know anybody who knows my husband who would think, “Actually it would have been better if his parents never had him.” Of course not!
