Has anyone ever been able to get a support job (tech support, customer service) after telling the company you have a stutter? Ok I know there are people on this sub with varying intensities of stuttering. But this is one is mostly for the people who have a SEVERE stutter to the point that it is a disability that hinders normal everyday living. I have applied to various support jobs like tech support, service rep, etc. From reading the job description, it seems that verbal communication is not the only thing those jobs entail. It involves fixing problem and troubleshooting. Plus I'm one of those guys who's speech improves as I keep talking. One of my friends told me that I *should* get a job like this to overcome my stutter. However when I tell a company about this problem, they ghost me. It's like they give me 0 consideration. And this is a huge bummer because everyone has told me that these kinds of jobs are very easy to slip into. Has anyone here managed to secure a job like this AFTER telling them about your stutter? Have they given you a chance?
