Aladdin movie quote as stuttering metaphor I watched Aladdin on a flight to NYC. btw, spell check caught me using two L and one D :) Spell check is my magic lantern when writing... mic drop In the movie, Aladdin has been impersonating a fictional Prince Ali to woo Jasmine. Late in the movie, as his identity is becoming clear to all, Will Smith is talking to Aladdin and says: "the more you gain by pretending the less you have in the end." How is this like attempts to hide stuttering? I tried for 24 years and it did not work. EVERYONE KNEW and I tried to pretend like they did not know. Brilliant, huh? It is like a Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde dual identity dilemma to overtly stutter yet work desperately to conceal it. Many pws treat stuttering like Voldemort from Harry Potter- "..he whom cannot be named." Acceptance leads to **evolution** if you will it to. Napoleon Hill said: "when the objective is clear enough there is no obstacle."
