Starting a new job is always scary!!! Whenever I’m nervous about something I try to change my mindset from “I’m nervous” to “I’m excited”. For me, it helps me feel the heightened level of emotion without being scared of them and then it puts a positive spin on things. I also find that it makes me more confident and eager to participate because I’m just reaffirming “I’m not scared, this is just an exciting new thing, I’ve got this!” I’ve recently implemented this at my new job and it’s helped so much. It seems as though when people view you as confident they also tend to assume you’re competent. Anyways, good luck!!
