I've never had speech therapy, mainly cuz my stutter was never "that bad" that the school intervened, but I second this. Reading out loud just random articles (Wiki pages, some news stuff to also stay in the know) REALLY helped my stutter or at least controlling the speed and building it like muscle memory so if I ever do read out loud, my anxiety won't take over completely. Also, maybe just a personal thing, but when I read aloud I also really developed my tone and pronunciation as to sort of compensate for when I stutter which kind of breaks the rhythm of your speech, which is what people notice and what, unfortunately, annoys people the most (but then I realized they were just d!ckheads and I should just do it for myself :)) ).
