If you think you'll become dependant on them then yea, I would stay away. Being addicted to benzos is not a good thing. I guess my other suggestion would be to go talk to a speech therapist who knows how to help stuttering (it's not uncommon that they don't know much about stuttering so you need to make sure). Obviously, this isn't much of a quick fix , but it'll be invaluable for the future. In the mean time, I would ask your boss if it's possible to move to a different position if you are currently unable to do your current job. Life sucks sometimes, but hang in there. Things will get better.
