Ive had a stutter all my life, and have been going to speech therapy ever since i was around 4-5 yrs old. It has only changed, not gotten better I used to have a more stereotypical stutter (ex: “s-s-s-sorry!”) but after all these yrs my stutter has only changed. Now my stutter causes me to get conpletely stuck on words as if there is a wall in my throat (ex: “sss.....s...........s.....s-sorry!”) I think this might have happened bc i developed a coping mechanism where i either stop saying what im trying to say or i just seitch the word. Now my brain just automatically stops me from being able to say it or something It sucks so much more bc of how embarrassing it is to be stuck on one letter for 30 seconds in the middle of class and have people just finish your sentence for you. I honestly would prefer if it was the way it was before. Not to mention the constant anxiety it causes any time im about to speak. It seems like ill forever be stuck like this and its such a pain.
