Female here! I’ve been stuttering since I could speak.. literally, my mom has these cute childhood videos on those older cameras that we watch during the holidays and I was always a stuttering mess. It definitely has worsened as I got older but when I went to speech therapy, I wouldn’t stutter. Which was the main lightbulb that made us think it was purely psychological, the only thing that’s honestly helped is when the person is aware that I stutter. I also have weird ‘triggers’ that worsen it, when somebody says “What’s your name.” Or ask me for my name in any other way, it triggers a major blockage! But weirdly enough if somebody tells me there name, without asking for mine. I can tell them my name without an issue! But you’re not alone!
