My girlfriend hasn’t used that term but I think she’s referred to it as “comforting” or something similar. When she’s meeting men for the first time in a romantic/sexual/date setting, it can be kinda scary for her, but when she heard my stutter, she found it disarming. Which I suppose was good for me because we’ve been dating for years and live together now though in a more general sense I don’t think someone should feel safe around a stranger just because they have a stutter. Stutterers can be axe murderers too after all.
