One bit on friends as someone who grew up with a stutter and has learned to control it through some speech therapy: focus more on yourself - doing things that you want to do for yourself, and you will make friends through exploring those things, platonic and otherwise. The more you focus on improving yourself, the more you will be able to relate and form relationships with others, especially if you develop passions for things. Someone who is engaged in something and wants to share it with others is immensely cool.
