For those who use a technique: Do you ever feel exhausted after using said technique?

For those who use a technique: Do you ever feel exhausted after using said technique? This is something that I am very curious to hear different opinions on. So allow me to explain in case the title isn't too clear. So I am a stutterer who uses fluency shaping techniques to control my speech. I know some are adverse to this approach since some would say it's better to just not worry about it and speak freely. In my case though, as much as I do hate the reactions I get from people and the embarrassment it brings, I also just hate psychically how it feels to stutter. I hate that physical feeling of air getting trapped, not being able to escape and getting completely blocked. I hate that feeling of my chest tightening before I speak. These feelings are all unpleasant as I'm sure all of us here know. This is why I choose to use a fluency shaping technique to control those physical patterns. So my question is for those who choose to do the same thing with their speech, do you ever feel exhausted by constantly trying to control your speech? The alternative of course is to just not do anything, speak, and whatever comes out, comes out. I just feel that I have days where I know I have this technique to control my speech, but sometimes I just choose not to use it because it requires too much mental energy. I feel using it too much or all the time is just really draining on the mind. But at the same time I want to control my speech, so clearly I need to find an equal balance somewhere. Ahhhh.....this life of ours....never easy!
