I definitely still identify as a stutterer although I rarely stutter any more, at least not outwardly. I find that I still have to manage my speech to stay reasonably fluent. Over the years I've learned a lot of tricks and techniques. For the most part I only really struggle speaking in new situations where I feel uncomfortable. I run a small business and have to talk with employees, clients and vendors every day and don't really have any problems speaking in this environment. But then I'll be out and somebody will ask me my toddler's name and I block and can't get it out and they are looking at me like what's wrong with you, don't you know your own kid's name. I don't think I'll ever be "cured" but really I've reached a point where my speech doesn't bother me or hold me back. But it keeps me humble for sure.
