For me it's kinda the opposite. I'm not afraid of my stutter, and when I'm in the moment having fun, I forget it entirely. But what it means is I go to tell this hilarious joke, or this cool story, and I just c-c-c-c-, I just can't ssssss-ssss-, wtf, oh yeah I stutter. Well that joke's dead as anything and the pacing of the story is all fubar.
