"*Elongation*". I agree with you that the positive effect of elongation could be: reducing fear of a feared letter. Research states that if adults who stutter 'anticipate stuttering', then they are 90% of the times correct. In other words, 90% of the times that we predict that a stutter might happen, it will lead to a stutter. Your strategy targets the 'reducing the fear of a feared letter'. I agree, that this is effective. Now, if we reduce the 'fear' of anticipatory fear, then we are left with the 'anticipation', because even without fear, the 'expectation/prediction' that a stutter might happen still persists. Question: Could you please create another strategy that deals with stuttering anticipation?
