I totally understand what you’re going thru! I’ve been stuttering since I was born too, it was mild/closer to severe, but with time, it improved! At first I thought the same as you, but then, one day, I woke up and told myself that I couldn’t keep stuttering control my life. I’m now a private pilot, and working towards my commercial and other licenses. My goal is to become a professional pilot (whether corporate or airlines). It requires a lot of talking, which is not an issue to me anymore. (Ps I still stutter, but it’s now almost unnoticeable, though I have my bad days as well). WE are ALL afraid that we’re going to stutter and of others’ reaction, and not afraid of talking. An IMPORTANT tip I could give you is to have the ‘fuck it!’ mindset. Don’t think ‘oh shit, I will stutter’ and don’t be afraid: if they make fun of you, let it be, leave them behind and find other people that bring value to your life. Don’t be ‘sorry’ about your stutter. Achieving that mindset isn’t an easy thing to do, but trust me once you do have that ‘fuck it’ mindset, you’ll be so much relieved. I know you can do it! Follow your dreams and purpose, don’t let stuttering get in the way! :)
