I love making connections and, like you mentioned, listening to their stories. It's also a really nice feeling when someone trusts you with a close secret, or considers you a part of their inner circle. Sometimes, it's just a nice feeling when you get someone to laugh or smile. I guess maybe all that enjoyment is a sort of positive reinforcement for me, since I've associated the thought of meeting folk with happiness rather than nervousness.
