No. If I didn’t stutter I would have gone to university, I wouldn’t have met my partner and my children wouldn’t exist. I have had a lot of sad times and I have missed on opportunities that I may have otherwise gone for. I have also learned that most of the things I missed out on were because I didn’t put myself forward. I didn’t go for it. A stutter slows me down but it shouldn’t stop me from accomplishing anything. There are lots of inspiring people doing amazing things with while having a stutter and other more problematic conditions. The more I put myself forward, the more my speech improves and the more confidence I have to do things that that have been historically difficult or daunting.
