One more thing: stuttering can be really physically hard and exhausting. So if your friend is quiet, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not comfortable. He may just not feel like talking right then, and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean anyone is doing anything wrong. Even now, if my husband has a day at work where he had to talk a lot, he may not want to talk much that night at home, because he’s exhausted.
