Has anyone from the UK had experience with any sort of speech therapy on the NHS? Hey, long time lurker first time poster. I’ve had a stutter my whole life and for most of that time it’s either not been as bad or I never used to notice it or care about it as much. But recently as I’ve gotten older and work full time it really sticks with me when I block or stutter around someone who’s not a close friend. I’ve wanted to do something about it for a long time but have always put it off. I was wondering it anyone has experience with any kind of therapy or “treatment” via the NHS. I’m not sure what they offer for adults or how severe it has to be for them to offer help (mine isn’t crazy bad compared to most things I’ve read in this sub but it’s way worse around people I’m comfortable with). If they don’t do anything at all then I’d love to hear what other actions you guys have taken towards improving this horrible situation.
