Person with a bad stutter here - I'd be happy if someone broached the topic because what you've described legit sounds like it could be a very stressful experience. I wouldn't ask if they want someone else to do it, but I know that I'm personally fine if teachers or bosses or whatnot broach it with me privately in a respectful manner.
