I had another social event last night where I only knew one person. I avoided introducing myself when I walked in (and immediately felt bad about it). But I later talked with people, let out a bunch of repetitions, often when initiating conversation, and let myself keep going, holding eye contact to keep from blocking. It’s still somewhat scary. But it works. Repetitions are soooo much preferable to blocks.
