Need advice on what to do with my stutter Hey guys this is my first reddit post so I’m not really sure how to work this thing but here it goes. I’m 19 years old, and I’ve been stuttering for as long as I can remember, my stutter is not terrible but it gets worse in certain situations like, introducing myself to people or presenting in class or just in regular conversations with anyone, there are some words that I just can’t say or tend to have blocks on. It hasn’t affected me much in my life so far in terms of going to university/getting part time jobs here and there, but I feel like as I get older and my life gets more serious it’ll be a problem, I’m trying to get into med school at the moment and that’s where I think I’ll see an issue. Have any of you had any success with speech therapy? I heard it’s expensive so I really don’t wanna waste money on something that might not work, and I know it depends on the person but at this point I’m desperate for just any solutions that will help me in the long run. If anyone has had any experiences or tips on how to improve their stutter please let me know it’ll be a hugeee help. And if you guys need someone to talk to or just a friend feel free to hit me up as well!! Thank you.
