Do People Laugh Out Loud When You Start Talking? Long time reader, first time posting. I’m in my early 30s and I’ve stuttered all of my life. For the most part I’m at peace with it, though I have my ups and downs with it, as most of us do. But I’m finding it much more common now for people to just blatantly laugh out loud when I first start talking and let me tell you it really makes me angry. I find it most common in fast food places, but now it’s happening with new hires at work. Does anyone have trouble with this? Maybe it’s my personal struggle that’s shaped me, but why I’m earth is that your first response when someone is having difficulty speaking?
