Under 18 is just a kid. Anyway, she sucked in 8th grade. She was not a nice person. (I wonder if she was being bullied at home?) I will say, however you handled it back then, made an impact on her subconsciously or consciously. You affected her somehow and now she has found true love with someone with a speech disability.
