First time I drank alcohol my stutter disappeared. Subsequent drinking had less and less impact on my fluency. Amphetamines also have diminishing returns, requiring higher doses to achieve the same effects. I suspect this was a fluke. Maybe 'fluke' isn't exactly right, but let's say "not a long term solution." Here's the upshot though. **YOU ARE CAPABLE OF FLUENCY.** Now you just have to figure out "how?" I always advocate for speech therapy. Even if you've tried without success before. Try a different program. Seek out a different therapist. You might not improve your fluency with the first, second, third, or ninth attempt. But if you keep at it, you'll find a program to improve your fluency.
